Lamar Briggs was born in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1935 and died in Palm Beach, Florida in 2015. He attended the University of Southern Louisiana, the University of Houston and graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art. Lamar’s work has been show in museums and galleries in Canada, Mexico, England, Germany, Switzerland and Hungary as well as throughout the United States. His talents as an abstract artist have been applied to paintings, monotypes, watercolors, bronze sculptures, woodcuts, and tapestries. In his work, he studies the interplays of color and light and is inspired by music and nature.
