In 2012, Debra Barrera's first solo exhibition was held at Moody Gallery in conjunction with her project Drive Me There and Back Again, which was included in the Blaffer Art Museum's Window Into Houston exhibition series. Her work has been exhibited in several group exhibitions in Texas including the 2013 Texas Biennial at Blue Star Contemporary Art, San Antonio as well as at Alabama Song, Houston, Oak Cliff Cultural Center, Dallas, and the Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi. She is a Visual Arts Contributor for Arts + Culture Magazine and Glasstire. Debra received her Masters of Fine Arts in Painting from The University of Houston and her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and in English from The University of Texas at Austin.
